OTS Grants and Awards

The Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Society is pleased to support young investigators in the field through several awards and grants.  These grants are awarded through a competitive application process.  Please note that all applicants must be current OTS members in good standing and prior winners are not eligible to apply.

Dr. Alan Gewirtz Memorial Scholarship

The Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Society is pleased to announce applications for 2012 the Dr. Alan Gewirtz Memorial Scholarship. Dr. Gewirtz was very influential in the field of oligonucleotides as well as in the establishment of OTS. Dr. Gewirtz's passing in November 2010 inspired OTS to create this scholarship in his honor to young researchers in the field. The award is in the amount of $2,000.

Application Guidelines

  1. All applicants must be OTS members in current standing.
  2. Prior winners are not eligible to apply.
  3. Applicants will be reviewed based on an abstract submission, CV, publication list, and one letter of recommendation.
  4. Deadline to apply for the 2012 award: Summer 2012 (exact deadline TBA)

  • You do not have to register for or attend the 8th Annual Meeting to apply for scholarship; however, the winner is highly encouraged to attend the meeting.
  • Should you decide to attend the meeting only if you are chosen for the scholarship, you may register after being notified.
Travel Grants

The Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Society is pleased to offer travel grants to students and post docs who need funding to attend the society's annual meeting. Grants begin at $500.

  1. All applicants must be OTS members in current standing.
  2. Prior winners are not eligible to apply.
  3. Applicants will be reviewed based on abstract submissions
